Freshest Ice Creams

Visited Freshest for the first time today. Ordered two small cups (pictured) with the most delicious vegan, coconut milk ice creams. Taste tested the Brazilian, Columbian, soursop (bãna) flavors - each one a delight to the senses - especially today, in the midst of summer. Walked away today with the small cups of pistachio and the Columbian flavors (mixture of fruits), as well as a pint of Brazilian (mixture of pineapple and spearmint). Only recently became aware of this business' existence, and can say after today - it was worth the wait! As a local small business - the owner and purveyor of these fine confections greeted us with a cheery smile, welcoming us. The store front has a small, but brightly decorated Brazilian and Columbian-themed sitting and staging area. The ice cream is well organized with the vegan and lactose-free options pointed out by the most friendly store employees. The menu is clearly labeled, identifying ice cream cup sizes and the counter has a nice presentation of available ice cream toppings - think Reese's Pieces, vanilla and chocolate chips, etc. Will visit again. Fantastic.

I came all the way from Canada to try Freshest Ice Cream. Nutella, Pistachio and the Romeo & Julieta (guava and cheese) were my favorites. Angela and her staff are so friendly, and the ice creams are to die for!

Absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh lactose-free and vegan ice cream! I love the variety of Brazilian and Columbian fruit and chocolate flavors. You can get multiple flavors in each cup and add toppings. This is the best ice cream my wife and I have had here in San Antonio, and we will be back!

I love a little sweet treat but am trying to eat healthier, so Freshest is one of my favorite places to go. They're an amazing local business, and have the most delicious ice creams! The staff is also very nice and helpful at explaining how they make their ice cream and what all the flavors are. They have lactose free options, and I love the unique Colombia and Brazilian flavors. I don't know anywhere else in town to get ice cream like this. The Romeo and Juliet is a new one for February that I need to go back and try because it was a sweet guava I think. It was my first time tasting Guanabana too, and that was a refreshing tart flavor with my usual two favorites. They also do milkshakes which my husband loves. Just writing this review makes me want to go again!! 🤤💖

On vacation in San Antonio, my boyfriend and I made two trips here on our three nights in town. You can tell the owner puts a lot of love into the place. I’m always looking for vegan ice cream shops while on vacation and this was probably the best one I’ve found! We both loved all the options. Even my boyfriend who isn’t vegan was impressed. I would suggest a chocolate, kiwi, and passion fruit combo with coconut topping! But there’s so many flavours that all go so well together! Try anything and you won’t be disappointed!
